Canadian Coast Guard Arctic Region – Implementation and Successes
On 29 November 2021, Assistant Commissioner Neil O’Rourke, Arctic Region, Canadian Coast Guard, spoke to RUSI(NS) and guests with a presentation titled “Canadian Coast Guard Arctic Region – Implementation and Successes.”
On 24 October 2018, the creation of the stand-alone Arctic Regions for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the DFO and Canadian Coast Guard were announced. Since then, Coast Guard Arctic Region has led the successful standing-up of the Arctic Region. This work and progress to date was highlighted during the presentation, which provided a comprehensive view about a unique agency operating in the Canadian Arctic.
